HOMAGE TO A MAPUCHE INDIAN

EN HOMENAJE A UN INDIO MAPUCHE

I hear your voice and imagine a landscape.
The dryness of the desert, the  greatness of the Andes.I hear your voice and I listen to all those who are still crying for the lost land and their customs violated.
I hear your voice and I  see them.  



Oigo tu voz e imagino un paisaje.
La aridez del desierto , la magnitud de los Andes.
Oigo tu voz y escucho a todos aquellos que aún lloran por las 
tierras perdidas las costumbres profanadas. 
Oigo tu voz y los veo a ellos. 


I wrote this poem while I was listening to a Mapuche singing in Mapudungún (his language). Mapuche means : Mapu(land) and Che(people).

Escribí esta poesía mientras el Mapuche cantaba en su lengua " Mapudungún".Mapuche significa (Mapu-tierra y Che-gente).
